About the Department of Nursing

As the University of the District of Columbia transforms itself into a world-class institution; our department is undergoing its own transformation. The Department of Nursing offers the RN-to-BSN nursing degree. This program is designed for those students who are Registered Nurses and hold a license to practice nursing in the Washington, DC and metropolitan area.

Mission

The University of the District of Columbia is the only urban land-grant institution of higher learning in the nation. It is Washington, DC's only public institution providing affordable postsecondary education at the baccalaureate and graduate levels.  The professional nursing program is housed within the College of Arts and Science whose mission is to produce well-educated, automomous, competent, and resourceful graduates  to practice nursing in the a multiethnic, global and technological society of the 21st century.
