Apply for the CIP

Congressional Internship Program

The Congressional Internship Program [CIP] provides eligible University of the District of Columbia students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience working in a Congressional office.  Participants in the CIP receive an invaluable opportunity to learn the inner workings of Congress, sharpen their research, analytical, and communication skills, and develop relationships that can prove instrumental for advancing their career goals. Interns will learn the day-to-day operations of Congress and the legislative process while performing support functions for key office staff. After completing a CIP-sponsored Congressional internship, students will be well positioned to leverage their new credentials to serve as effective leaders in the public sector.  In addition, students who successfully complete the semester-long internship program will be eligible for academic credit.
