Melanie Anderson serves as the Dean for New Program Development and Compliance at the new Community College of the District of Columbia. Her primary role is to coordinate the introduction of new and innovative curricular offerings and teaching methodologies. Throughout her career, she has worked to maximize opportunities for students to realize their potential and fulfill their dreams.
Dr. Anderson has previously served as the University of the District of Columbia’s Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Accreditation, Acting Dean of the School of Business and Public Administration, and Chair of the Business Education Department. She is currently an evaluator for the American Council on Education, assessing college and university academic programs taught at U.S. military bases both here and abroad.
Dr. Anderson earned a doctorate and master’s degree from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree from D.C. Teachers College, one of the University of the District of Columbia’s predecessor institutions. As a specialist in business communications, she has authored publications including two text-workbooks on how to find a job.
