Architectural Engineering Technology - AAS

The Architecture program of instruction leads to the Associate in Applied Science degree in Architectural Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology and the Bachelor of Architecture degree. The Architectural Engineering Technology program prepares students for work in architectural firms, consulting engineering firms, construction companies, building materials suppliers, and appropriate governmental agencies. The Architectural Engineering Technology Program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission (TAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

In the fall of 1989, the program implemented the new Bachelor of Architecture program which leads to the first professional degree in architecture. The studios and classes are offered in the late evenings and on Saturdays in order to accommodate the person whose career objective is to become a licensed architect but who must maintain full-time employment.

The program is designed to meet the needs of high school graduates, students with an associate degree in architecture, a four-year (non-professional) architecture degree, architectural school transfers, and architecture and construction industry technicians, draftspersons and junior managers who may have accumulated applicable path to the Bachelor of Architecture degree is also available.
