M.S. Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics

The Graduate Program in Nutrition/Dietetics (GPND), an innovative and dynamic Masters of Science program, broadens the scope of learning and teaching in the discipline of nutrition.  The program provides a strong foundation in science and research, technology and information systems, and the scientific knowledge of nutrition with emphasis on public policy and communication.  The program in Nutrition/ Dietetics emphasizes communications and provides students with a broad based, culturally sensitive education to prepare them to promote public policies.  Particularly policies related to nutrition that will affect the well being of individuals and groups locally and globally.

Students applying for admission into the Masters Degree Program in Nutrition and Dietetics must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Nutrition or related field.
  • Have a minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0.
  • Complete all course prerequisites with a grade of C or better.
  • Submit (3) letters of recommendation from individuals having knowledge of the applicant’s potential to complete the Masters Degree Program in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Submit a General Test score of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) which includes an assessment of analytical writing, verbal and quantitative skill.
  • Official University application and fee.

* Students holding degrees not related to nutrition are required to complete prerequisite as advised by the program director.

Total Credit Hours Required for Graduation is 32.
