The essence of a television channel is its programming. In television, the basic principle for generating an audience is so that people can follow programming, programming, and programming.

UDC TV has elected to establish a program schedule around three national programming services that will build an audience looking for lifelong learning experiences via television:

  • Classic Arts Showcase: Provides short video clips from the spectrum of classic arts disciplines including, chamber and choral music, jazz operas, dance folk art, museum art, theatrical performances and classic film and documentaries. The Lloyd E. Rigler-Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation sponsors the service.
  • The Annenberg/CPB Channel: Provides a wide range of award-winning educational programming designed for lifelong learning sponsored by Harvard University and the Smithsonian Institution.
  • UDC TV also features several locally originated programs. These programs help to distinguish our channel as a local service, and appear each weeknight in our prime-time schedule, 7:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m. The programs are:

    1. Sound Advice: Hosted by Dean Shelley Broderick is seen three times a week. The program features attorneys from various non-profit legal services, and our own legal clinic directors who offer the public legal advice that range from domestic violence to trademark, copyright and patent law.
