UDCNAS 5th Annual Golf Championship: A Success On and
Off the Greens

Calling New Graduates of UDC!!!! Did you graduate in May 2009? If the answer is “yes”—or, even if you graduated within the last 10 years—you have the distinction of being known as a “new graduate” by the University’s Office of Alumni Relations. And having spoken to some new graduates, the Office is pleased to announce that interest in social activities—and social networking—is high. So, let’s get started! Beginning in September, we’ll sponsor monthly events, such as Happy Hours, Jazz Brunches, Art Stops (visits to local art galleries or an evening at the theater), and Networking Hours. These are just some of the ideas but we really want YOU to set the agenda. Tell us what you have in mind by calling the Office of Alumni Relations at 202.274.5206 or by e-mailing alumni@udc.edu. Details on the September Happy Hour will be published in the August “Flame on the Fly.” Don’t miss it and by all means, tell other “new” graduates that we’re moving full steam ahead!

Mission Statement

The Office of Alumni Relations is that University Advancement component that works toward building a new constituency of proactive alumni and pre-alumni "that is, current UDC students" as friends and financial contributors to the University of the District of Columbia.

To fulfill this objective, the Office of Alumni Relations engages alumni in a wide range of program activities, such as:

• Homecoming
• Class reunions
• Social, cultural and athletic events
• Hosting recruitment activities, seminars and workshops
• Creating networking opportunities to sustain a seamless link between students, graduates and graduate's alma mater
