Dr. Valerie Epps came to UDC in June 2009 to assume the role of Vice President of Student Affairs. Since that time, she has also taken on the Admissions and Veterans Affairs functions for the university. Her priorities in her combined position are to develop programs to increase enrollment and retain students.

Epps is a former Vice President of Student Affairs at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. She has also served in leadership positions at several institutions, including the George Washington University here in Washington and Atlanta Metropolitan College, where she was Leadership Director. She has more than 20 years worth of management experience in higher education institutions.
