Architecture
The graduating student will understand the architect's role in office management and practice principles guiding all aspects of operating an architectural office. The practice of architecture is the successful merging of sound business operation and the architectural process from meeting a client for the first time to the completion of the built project. The hiring rate for our graduating seniors is 91%. Our alumni are making great strides in Washington's competitive market. The alumni computer skills are a plus in their rapid advancement in architectural offices. |
Aviation Maintenance Technology
Graduates of the AAS degree program in Aviation Maintenance Technology are employed by the major airlines and the smaller commuter airlines. Many students continue their studies to obtain BS in Aviation Maintenance Management.

Civil Engineering
Graduates of the program hold important positions in local, state and federal government, construction, consulting, and materials test firms as civil engineers and project managers. Many graduates have earned graduate degrees in Civil Engineering from Catholic University, George Washington University, University of California, and University of Maryland.
Computer Science
Alumni are employed and in graduate schools, nationwide.
Electrical Engineering
Graduates of the BSEE program have been generally very successful in their job search after graduation. Many have gone to the private sector to be employed as electrical engineers in very large corporations. Many have been employed by local and federal governments. Some have pursued graduate studies in prestigious universities.
Electronics Engineering Technology
Graduates of the program have found rewarding positions spanning a wide range of technical areas in industry and government. Many graduates have returned to UDC to obtain their BS degree in Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering.

Fire Science Administration
Many graduates have obtained promotions with the DC Fire department and other areas of administration. Some graduates continued their education at the graduate level.
Mechanical Engineering
Graduates of the Bachelor of Science degree program in Mechanical Engineering secure jobs in private industry, with local, state, and federal government agencies. The graduates hold supervisory or professional positions. a substantial number of graduates go to graduate schools to obtain Master's and Doctoral degrees. a few have started private businesses. Mechanical engineers are employed in private industry and governmental agencies. The demand for mechanical engineers is greater that the supply of graduates. Employment opportunities are very bright and will remain so in the 21st century.
