Welcome to the School of Business and Public Administration (SBPA) of the University of the District of Columbia. The SBPA is the only public university located in Washington DC and its goal is to provide excellent education in an excellent way. The School has offered high quality education for over 35 years. Our vision is to be a world class urban institution and the locus of excellence in education relative to, private and public sector organizations, located in and around urban areas, domestically and globally.
The School of Business and Public Administration is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and is also a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
The School of Business and Public Administration prides itself on educating future local, national, and global leaders who are passionate about and committed to making a positive impact on the greater community. Our students range from recent high school graduates to those with many years of work experience who are seeking career advancement. We offer small-to-medium sized classes, for full-time and part-time students who are seeking to complete one of our certificate programs or one of our associates, bachelors, or masters degrees. Throughout the curriculum there is a heavy emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking, ethics, working in teams, and understanding the opportunities and challenges of global environment. Many of our students participate in extracurricular activities and hold leadership positions in School and University student organizations. Other students represent the School in various national competitions. Our graduates go on to pursue successful careers in a wide variety of fields in the private and public sectors.
Our staff and faculty are student-centered. Many of our faculty are seasoned instructors and researchers with varied expertise in diverse business disciplines and are committed to facilitating our students fulfilling their academic, personal, and professional goals. The SBPA provides scholarship opportunities and also career counseling services to facilitate internships and permanent career opportunities.

At the same time, our students and graduates are surrounded by an abundance of government, non-government; public, private; for-profit, not-for-profit; and domestic, international organizations.
