Eight Principles
The eight principles that guide ECLI’s work are as follows:
- Celebrating and safeguarding the joy of childhood
- Advancing the rights of all to experience acceptance, to develop as individuals, to contribute, and to belong to an inclusive community that works actively to achieve equity and justice
- Nurturing the strengths and limitless potential of children and adults, their families, cultures, and languages
- Honoring each child and adult’s individuality, strength, special needs, and learning styles
- Promoting high standards, quality programs, public confidence, professional recognition, and equitable compensation
- Committing time for collaboration, reflective practice, and professional development
- Affirming the self-worth of the adult learner by creating opportunities for life-long learning
- Being accountable for providing all children with the opportunities, experiences, and Preparation needed for future achievement and academic progress.
