Eight Principles

The eight principles that guide ECLI’s work are as follows:

  1. Celebrating and safeguarding the joy of childhood
  2. Advancing the rights of all to experience acceptance, to develop as individuals, to contribute, and to belong to an inclusive community that works actively to achieve equity and justice
  3. Nurturing the strengths and limitless potential of children and adults, their families, cultures, and languages
  4. Honoring each child and adult’s individuality, strength, special needs, and learning styles
  5. Promoting high standards, quality programs, public confidence, professional recognition, and equitable compensation
  6. Committing time for collaboration, reflective practice, and professional development
  7. Affirming the self-worth of the adult learner by creating opportunities for life-long learning
  8. Being accountable for providing all children with the opportunities, experiences, and Preparation needed for future achievement and academic progress.
