About the College of Arts and Sciences

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) offers a wide range of programs in education, languages, sciences, social sciences and the visual and performing arts. There are programs at the certificate, associate, baccalaureate and master levels. In addition, the College fulfills its land grant mission through outreach programs and services that impact the lives of many citizens of the District of Columbia. Through its three institutes - Child Development, Gerontology, and Public Safety - CAS provides leadership through innovative programming that fosters better educational and developmental services for preschool children; improves the quality of life for senior citizens; and collaborates with other neighborhood groups and the Metropolitan Police to reduce violence in the city's neighborhoods.

This web site will provide information about the myriad of certificate and degree programs offered in the College of Arts and Sciences. It will also describe some of the current programs and activities in our three institutes. We hope that this information will enable you to gauge the range and vitality of the College's teaching, research and service programs. Through these activities, the College provides students who enroll with a high quality educational experience in an environment that is diverse and collegial.
