Career Opportunities

Current predictions are that persons trained in gerontology will be increasingly in demand as the older population increases and programs for older persons expand in areas such as housing, health, social services, recreation, volunteering, employment, nutrition and continuing education. Students are encouraged to pursue studies in aging and related fields to meet the expected demand for persons trained in community services planning for the aged. With a degree in aging or a related field, graduates will be able to serve as administrators of agencies and programs that focus on the aged, and also in the capacity of teachers, researchers and other leading experts.

The academic program of the Institute is directed toward providing the expertise or university-trained workers in services for the aged.
