Welcome to the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning

The mission of the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning (OIRAP) is to engage in institutional research, assessment and strategic planning.

Institutional Research

Institutional Research operates as the central unit for the collection, processing, interpretation, analysis and dissemination of “official” University data. The data are transformed into useful information for decision-making and strategic planning. This unit serves as the primary point of contact on all matters relating to University data and reporting. In the support of the mission, goals, objectives, assessment and planning efforts of the University, the Office of Institutional Research operates proactively in the following key areas: data management, institutional reporting, assessment and planning.

Assessment

The assessment component researches, suggests quantitative and qualitative methodologies to use in examining the understanding of documented goals and objectives of institutional, instructional, and support units with their outcomes. It collects, analyzes and interprets data from a variety of sources, i.e., standardized instruments, surveys, questionnaires and performance measures to verify that the departments and other units, are in keeping with the University’s mission, goals and standards promoting overall effectiveness. An inventory of all assessment instruments will be maintained in the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning.

Strategic Planning

A University-wide strategic planning committee of faculty, staff and administrators will be formed. This process relies on the expertise of the committee members and the data or information from the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning. This website has been developed to provide the users with immediate access to reliable information that may be needed to support the activities of the University community.
